A company in Grants Pass, Ore., is offering the public what could be the world’s ultimate flashlight.

Originally produced for law enforcement personnel, firefighters and other first responders, AE Xenide’s High Intensity Discharge Personal Searchlight is said to possess 10 times the lumen output of conventional flashlights.

The compact flashlight, which produces a beam of light comparable to a headlight on a Mercedes Benz, recently was deemed to be completely safe in environments where explosive gas is present. It is now being tested for various volatile dusts.

"I just want to tell you how much I love my searchlight! I haven't encountered any more lions in my yard, but if they come, I will be able to see them at least.
Thanks,
Diane"
